Recessive

In genetics, the name given to genes that will be expressed only if two copies are present in the cell. If only a single copy is present, the information on the recessive gene will not be expressed.


Replication

An exact copy is made of the DNA in the nucleus of a cell before the cell undergoes cell division to produce two cells.
