Ulcer

An ulcer is a persistent, crater-like lesion of the skin or an internal mucous membrane that may be linked with a variety of physical, inflammatory, infectious, and malignant factors. There are of course many different named types of ulcer, ranging from external ulcers such as pressure sores and leg ulcers to internal ulcers such as mouth ulcers, gastric ulcers, peptic ulcers and so on.

Urethra

The tube extending from the urinary bladder to the outside through which urine is voided.

Urinary Bladder

A hollow muscular organ that stores urine until it can be voided at an appropriate time. When it is empty it lies within the pelvis, and as it fills it expands upwards and forwards within the abdominal cavity. Urine enters the bladder via the two ureters that link it with the kidneys, and leaves the bladder via the urethra to the outside.

Urine

The fluid produced in the kidneys, transported to the urinary bladder via the ureters, and voided from the bladder through the urethra.
